Not what I expected
So maybe some reasoning as to why I am now listening to a Rush album. Yes, I have listened to Rush before. No, I haven’t listened to their catalog extensively. I just finished listening to Primus, they toured with rush. I saw Primus in concert and they played Cygnus X-1 and at one point they toured together. I hadn’t heard Cygnus X-1 before and the day after the concert I listened to Farewell To Kings. I liked it a lot but had already written about Yellow Days and didn’t feel like writing another post.
Anyways I figured I could start their catalog, eventually I would catch up to the stuff I know and pass it to the newer stuff I don’t know again.
This album was not what I expected at all. the only song I knew off of it was Working Man. Overall the album was very bluesy and hard rock. I am sure this comparison has been made before but they presented like a Canadian Led Zeppelin. I can honestly say I am glad they moved away from this to their own sound, or at least that is what I am anticipating given my knowledge of the band.
Now will I listen to the full catalog over the course of a few days? I dunno, guess I will find out tomorrow if this continues.
