I know the title track and I think I’ve heard Rivendell
Yesterday the album seemed very inspired by Zeppelin. Today not as much. Best I Can reminded me more of AC/DC’s style. I felt Beneath, Between & Behind did show some Zeppelin influence but By-Tor And The Snow Dog is what I expect when listening to Rush.
Again, with the being familiar with the band, I have some expectation when I want to listen to Rush. It’s fun to listen to these early albums to see what was attempted and how the “classic” sound developed over time. I’ve also experienced this listening to Pink Floyd’s early stuff but with Syd leaving I think that changed the sound more and much more dramatically than the growth over time.
Anyways. This album was a lot more like what I think of when I think of Rush. You can see things coming together and meshing. I might try to listen to another album today if I have the time.
