Again it was the cover
That caused me to pick this album. I know Mississippi Queen. So I expect southern rock. Going to listen while running to my daughter’s school to pick her up from band practice.
Mississippi Queen
As I mentioned above. I know this one.
Theme for an Imaginary Western
This one is much different than the first track. I really enjoy the solo.
Never In My Life
This is more of what I expected. I can hear some things I would consider southern rock
Silver Paper
Interesting intro, a song of devotion and love.
For Yasgur’s Farm
This one I probably liked the least, perhaps I will warm up on subsequent listens.
To My Friend
This is very different and perhaps my favorite on the album. I think that Gogol Bordello may have borrowed from this song when composing “Not A Crime”
The Laird
A plea for freedom and peace. Instrumentation
Sittin’ On A Rainbow
I enjoyed this one, I was driving while listening and there was a rainbow that made it even more cool.
Boys In the Band
Bluesy final song for the album.
Well now
This wasn’t quite what I expected. I was expecting a lot of cowbell and southern drawls. Instead I received something more akin to Led Zeppelin. I did enjoy this and added a couple songs to my playlist. I am not sure I will explore more of the catalog.
