I’m pretty amazed. 

Yes I had heard a good deal of this album. I glanced at the other albums he released before his death and recognized some of the songs but it looks like the majority of Hendrix songs I have heard were from this album. I don’t think I’ve ever sat down and listened to Hendrix. The guitar is fuzzy he is very impressive with his ability to play guitar. Not sure I would call him a great vocalist. I would consider his vocal style very 60’s folky in that there isn’t much variation, there is some, but most the lyrics are almost spoken. I believe this was a purposeful stylistic choice, because it is likely easier to play guitar like Hendrix when you aren’t bothered by that singing stuff.
