This dropped spores and put down mycelium roots into my brain!
I really wanted to make some sort of mushroom pun as I have a bit of a fascination with them myself. This album was really a fantastic surprise for me. This album was gifted to me by one of the musicians in the band.
I listened to the album as my soundtrack yesterday as my partner and I fruitlessly searched for estate sales.
This is a proggy romp. At times it reminds me of Pink Floyd, yes the cover of See Emily Play helps with that. I found it intriguing that there was a song about the book 1Q84. I read it about a decade ago. Unfortunately I don’t remember enough of the book to be able to dig into the song.
I feel like Holy Picture is likely my favorite song on the album. The version of the album on Bandcamp I listened to had a “LP” version that was shorter but the full 10.5 minute version is much better.
Overall I liked the album, the production was good, I will listen again.
