Nepotism

I was recommended this album as a good prog album. My only experience with Willow is Whip My Hair which she released when she was 10 years old and was widely panned. It was nepotism, and I pressed play on this album as I was preparing to mow my back yard which had grass over 3 feet and 6 inch deep standing water in others. I boldly put the album on repeat to give me the soundtrack for the task that I was so eager to take on after an overwhelming work week.

Putting this album on was a good decision. I don’t know if I would call this prog but it’s no doubt proggy. I still think that this is still nepotism as I don’t think this would be released had it not been for who her parents are or how much money they are willing to spend on her.

That being said

This is an interesting album. It’s more mature than I had anticipated, not as poppy. I think some of the songs speak to her being uncomfortable with who she is, and the unique struggles she had as a child of people who are famous. Her voice took me by surprise. If anyone actually ever reads this I would encourage you to listen to this one. I am on my 4th time through the album and honestly really like it.
