The album cover
Is the sole reason I chose this album. It looked neat. I saw that it looks like I have listened to an EP of theirs or part of one but I don’t really remember other than the cover of the EP is familiar.
I am currently about halfway through the album. This is different. I get some Tame Impala vibes. The soundscape is incredibly wide. The percussion is more jazzy or poppy than rock. The vocals are layers of airy whisps. I think the bio I saw on this band was that they are a psyche pop outfit, I would agree with this assessment, I may even add that they are an electro pop outfit. I quite enjoy the sporadic use of arpeggiators scattered amongst the tracks of this album.
Quite a few tracks on this album would also be at home on a playlist that is called “LoFi beats to [verb] by”. The track, Sleep Talk, was probably my favorite on the album and would fit on a LoFi playlist.
I also found a lot of this album atmospheric in nature. The penultimate track, Swarmed, is a good example of this.
Overall I found this to be an enjoyable album. I will probably return to a few of the songs periodically.
