This is quite different

This week I was attending a meeting at work where we were discussing Juneteenth and we played a game that highlighted African American music. Out of the 12 songs they chose for this game two were written by Bob Dylan but I didn’t bring that up. Another was A Bar Song (Tipsy) by Shaboozey. Briefly, it was not what I expected. I realized in this meeting that I do have preconceived notions about music and what to expect with a simple name of an artist. This album is an amalgamation of what I consider trap music and pop country. I am aware that this isn’t the first time these genres have been mashed together. I really enjoyed this album. It’s a mix of things I like and am familiar with along with some styles of music that I am aware of but don’t seek out often. I honestly hope that more music like this is made and goes more into the realm of outlaw country or more towards classic country or folk that I listen to more.
