Listening to this album to decide if I want to see them in concert
These are my notes.
Their album and concert advert looks trippy. I haven’t heard of them before.
I am halfway through the first track, I am enjoying this quite a bit.
They are very Phishy, the lyrical style is very Phishy I would say, currently on track 3.
On track 4, there is some Dead influence on this too, also looking at the album cover you can see a rose in the middle and some fish on the edges of the design, the keyboard, probably synth selection sounds more like the Dead instrumentation to me than Phish.
On track 6, very different than what’s been on so far, much heavier and not jammy.
On the final track, there are several times that the band tries to emulate Zappa with delivery of lyrics, seems pretty heavy in this track but I’ve noticed it on others too.
That was a fast paced, jammy psychedelic journey. It was quite enjoyable. I will see if I have the time on my schedule to see the concert, I expect it would be a blast.
