Last night
I attended the Allman Betts Band concert and the opener was JD Simo. He performed with just a drummer. It was a fantastic experience. A bluesy exploration and jazzy expose on the art of guitar. I was and still am impressed.
With that being said
I decided to listen to this album, the newest release, because I suspect it will be the most like the show last night, albeit there is a bass on this album.
Mortgage on My Soul
This is very much like what I expected. Everything on this so far has been just outstanding.
Afro Blue
While still bluesy this is more explorative.
Missy’s Strut
This one feels more upbeat and structured.
How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live
A more traditional blues? Yes, a modern blues song highlighting the wealth gap in America.
Higher Plane Pt. 1 & Pt. 2
I am honestly curious if I will be able to tell when part 2 starts.

I think part 2 has started, we lost the bluesy growl and are more into jazzy territory.

That was very much like the show last night, I am impressed, not too wordy as I am still tired and nursing a tea that is just a slow trickle of caffeine. I am glad I took today off work.
