Bar Italia
I have no idea who this band is.
The album seems to have a wedding photo on the front, perhaps this is music for weddings?
Mis-Shapes
They sound English. I like the use of the tambourine to add tension. The song is a call to revolution by the lower class and social outcasts.
Pencil Skirt
Seems to be a song about being with someone who is cheating on their partner.
Common People
Sudden synth pop! Not quite. A story about meeting an affluent young woman who has asked the narrator to help her understand the life of the “common people”.
I Spy
Quite cinematic, the lyrics seem to talk about the narrator trying to get a leg up and better himself. It reminds me of Roger Waters 2023 redux of Dark Side of the Moon.
Disco 2000
The narrator ponders about a childhood crush and wonders who she is today. The production on this one is different, it’s an alt pop song and I suspect it was pushed as a single, the chorus is an earwig.
Live Bed Show
This is the tale of the adventures of a woman’s bed. When it was first bought 7 years ago it got used a lot. But now it’s not a shared experience and reminds the woman of her past experience and how lonely she is now. It used to be a place of comfort but that has faded.
Something Changed
This one is a bit strange. The song is about meeting someone very dear to the narrator but also acknowledging that the love they share has changed from what it once was.
Sorted For E’s & Wizz
A song about doing drugs at a festival. Ecstacy and whatever “Wizz” is. The content reminds me of MDMAmazing by Beans on Toast. The end of the song ventures into thoughts of death and overdose.
F.E.E.L.I.N.G.C.A.L.L.E.D.L.O.V.E.
The intro reminds me of Tainted Love. The vocals start in the same spoken word that reminds me of Roger Waters. This seems to exist somewhere between the spoken word Roger Waters stuff, Bowie, and The Cure. This was great.
Underwear
A song about losing confidence after going home with someone for a one night stand.
Monday Morning
A song about the daily grind and subsequently breaking out of it but then having no direction.
Bar Italia
The place to go to after the festival has ended or the club has closed. The song describes getting food and trying to come down from the drugs.
That was interesting
Several times on the album it speaks about social issues brought about by class divisions. I do hear a lot of Bowie influence on the album, specifically the singer’s inflection and tone.
