I really like the album I listened to yesterday

So, I find myself with a choice. I want to further explore the band. I’ve listened to their newest release. I could explore like I did with Rodrigo y Gabriella where I work my way backwards listening to their songs get less and less complex as their skills and talents shrink and deteriorate back to the state they were when they first entered the music scene. Or I could jump back to May 2002.

I like the idea of going back to the start and listening up to where I’ve heard. I know I like where they have gone.

I am on A Cautionary Song. I think part of their sound that has caught my ear is how much the band reminds me of Harley Poe, but it’s not horror folk, just folk.

This album is notedly less psyche feeling than the most recent, but the band is still very tuned to the 60’s sound with the organ, lap steels, and general acoustic sounds. I like that the songs tell stories.

I enjoyed the album, not as much as the one from yesterday but I did enjoy it. Looking forward to the next one too.
