So I got a lap steel guitar yesterday
Absolute beginner level, was on sale at Guitar Center. So I figured I would listen to some blues today and found this album with the artist playing a lap steel. I am really listening to get inspiration and some scope of what to try to achieve and the biggest thing I notice is how clean the sound is. Also noticing that the instrument shines as the melody when played, it can be used as a response to a vocal verse, but it doesn’t appear to often intertwine with the vocals. I am still amazed about the cleanness of the sound. I struggled last night to perform licks without having multiple strings ring out. I also note that a lot of the blues licks also sounds like old country western licks too.
